In corporate America, blue collar America, and even no
collar America for that matter, life is speeding up and out
of control. With the advent of fast food, came convenience-
but also 3 billion pounds of sub-dermal fat!
The price of living steadily climbs, while the wages
rise much slower, putting Americans in a position where
they must devote more time to work and have less and less
time to devote to taking care of themselves and their
families, much less their own bodies, and health. This
makes for a nasty combination for those stuck in the rat
race, forcing them to choose between a heart attack or
starving to death.
For myself and my company, Iron Strong Fitness, you
would think that this presents a golden opportunity, yes?
After all, the more fat and out of shape people there are
in the world, the more business we have, right?
Well...It's not that simple. You see, the obesity
problem in this country has gotten so bad, that people
literally don't even WANT to get in shape anymore, they are
so overwhelmed.
Why, the other day I saw a special on "Body
Acceptance"...
I was absolutely floored: people are joining together to
actually enjoy being extremely obese, and people are
actually trying to get fat!
Well I've got news for you: it is NOT ok to be severely
overweight and obese. It's dangerous to your health, and
dangerous to your kids and other young people around you
who are extremely impressionable and are strugging to find
identity and acceptance in todays rocket-paced world.
If this mindset of laziness and refusal to take personal
responsibility for your own health is allowed to prevail,
then I have grave doubts about the life-expectancy of the
average person holding steady...much less rising- as it
should as advances in medicine keep being made!
The need for Fast Workouts and quick cardio bouts is
rising rapidly, and the amount of time people have
available for exercise is steadily dropping.
People's health and physical fitness has become the last
priority, and people demand an easy workout, and an easy
way to get healthy and improve their fitness.
So, while there are no short term miracles, or fitness
"silver bullets", there are several fast workouts you can
do in a jiffy that are sure to help you improve your
fitness and get your healthy lifestyle back.
So, to answer America's cry for fast, easy workouts, we
have created a Fat Blasting 15 minute lunch break workout
routine that anyone can do, at any time of the day, to ramp
up that metabolism, and ignite a fat burning inferno inside
your body!
To accomplish this, let's first talk about EPOC or
Excessive Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption. EPOC is a large
increase in the rate of oxygen intake following intense
level of physical exertion.
The body uses the extra oxygen in the processes that
restore the body to a state of normality and help to adapt
the body to the physical activity just performed.
Activities like balancing hormones, replenishing fuel
stores, repairing damaged muscle tissue, and putting the
body into an anabolic state, are all process's that require
energy expenditure, and studies show that this elevated
state of EPOC can have an effect on the body's metabolism
for up to 38 hours!
Ok now you understand how EPOC works, but how do we
trigger a high level of EPOC?
Simple: Fast Workouts, designed with HIIT (High
Intensity Interval Training) Cardio work, and emphasis on
maximum exertion through all movements performed.
For your 15 minute fat blaster use the following workout
3-4 times per week for 4 weeks. Be sure to allow at least 1
day of recovery time in between each day of exercise:
Ready? Let's get started...
Circuit-Super-Set
Do the following 3 times, with 30 seconds rest between
each C-S-S. For this workout you'll need two 10-25 pound
kettle bells, a 6'x 6' area, and an office chair.
* 10 Squat Jumps
* 10 Thrust Ups
(Kneel down on your knees, keep the body upright and
erect, let your body drop to the ground, then thrust
yourself back up to the starting position)
Now, repeat the same format with the following:
*25 Calf Thrusts holding kettle bells
*10 Explosive Dips
Now again with the following:
*10 Squat and Curls with Kettle Bells
*10 Jerk and Over-Head Presses with Kettle Bells
As your fitness level increases, make the workout more
challenging by increasing resistance, adding weight,
lengthening repetitions, and decreasing rest periods.
This fast workout is guaranteed to burn serious fat and
get your metabolism pumping, and most importantly will jump
start your EPOC for the next day or so to keep you burning
calories no matter where you are.
Remember, the key to this workout is maximum intensity:
put 100% effort into every movement, and take no more than
30 second rest periods. If you follow this workout 3-4
times a week, at the office or wherever you are, I
guarantee you'll notice not only a difference in your body,
but in your energy levels, alertness, and libido as
well!
