When you are trying to get ripped, the most important
thing you can do is reduce the amount of fat that you take
in. I know this sounds obvious but I do not think it is.
Very many body builders that I have met are very much more
interested in how much protein they can consume. And while
I agree this is very important also, the amount and the
quality of the fat that you consume will determine how much
of the muscle can actually be seen.
It is one thing to just be big and bulky, but to be big
and bulky and ripped, is something else.
Fat builds in layers just under the skin, so you can see
that if you have too much, the muscle, which is attached to
the bone would be obscured.
But fat is still important. It is time for us to learn
the difference between the good and the bad fat. There are
three kinds of fat: Saturated, monounsaturated, and
polyunsaturated. For our illustration, we are not
interested in monounsaturated fat but just so that you
know, it is fat that is neither good nor bad.
Polyunsaturated fat is fat that is good fat. So good
that if you do not get enough in your diet, you should take
it in pill form. It is especially important when cooking to
know that it is okay to fry your foods as long as you fry
with good quality oils: Safflower oil, sunflower oil,
canola oil and peanut oil are some best ones. The challenge
is that the good oils are not always the best ones to cooks
with.
The answer, Pam cooking spray. It uses the best oils and
is very good to cook with and make your food nice and
crispy instead of limp and soggy.
