Wake up! And Throw on your tennis shoes, because morning
exercise is really that much better. For those morning
haters, rebels, and protesters, it is time to break the
snooze button habits once and for all.
Is working out in the morning really worth giving up
those few extra minutes of sleep? Well, is your health and
fitness important to you? Is burning fat and getting the
body you have always wanted a priority? If so, then the
answer is absolutely YES!
Morning exercise ignites your metabolism...and keeps it
burning for up 24 hours longer. For the best weight loss
results, it is best to perform a good cardiovascular
routine, such as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT
Training), in the morning.
When you first wake up, your stored carbohydrates, known
was glycogen, are very low. With your body's primary fuel
system low (Carbohydrates), you body has no choice but to
turn to it's secondary energy, or your fat stores, for it's
main source of energy.
And dedicating yourself to a morning routine helps
guarantee that you will actually exercise. After a long,
stressful day, exercise will be last on the to do list, and
you will find yourself saying "tomorrow"...tomorrow.
Studies show that people who exercise in the morning are
more likely to still be exercising one year later, compared
to those who work out later in the day.
And say "so long" to your current morning addiction:
coffee. Exercise increases mental acuity, so by exercising
early in the morning, you will wake up faster and be more
alert throughout the day.
And although you may have to drag yourself to the gym
(unless you're a lucky Iron Strong PDT Client), the energy
you will gain from morning exercise will last you all day,
giving you more stamina to perform life's daily duties.
Also, many morning workout warriors find themselves
subconsciously making better healthy food choices
throughout the day. Avoiding temptation is easier when you
spend your waking moments working off the pounds.
That healthy sensation you gain from a steady morning
routine often wards off any desire for greasy, unhealthy
foods. Morning training will help you to start watching
what you eat from the very first meal of the day,
regulating your appetite, and giving you a healthy mind
set.
You may be getting up earlier, but you will get a much
better nights sleep, too. Waking early and working out
usually will force you to go to sleep earlier, hopefully
finding and regulating your natural sleep cycle.
Conversely, evening workouts can increase adrenaline,
making it hard to sleep at night and hard to get up in the
morning.
Snooze button temptations may be difficult but the
benefits are far worth the extra yawns. Discuss this
strategy for an incredibly effective and healthy lifestyle
change with your Iron Strong Trainer today, and get pumped
for the day by working out early!
