Muscle building for women is a taboo act. Most women
think they aren't built for it, and they may have a point.
But that doesn't mean it is possible for women to bulk up
and join the community of bodybuilders.
How often should I eat?
You should be eating every 2-3hrs. Your body holds onto
the nutrients of protein for roughly 2-4hrs. You need to
keep the inflow constant, so you know that your body is
getting it. There is also an added benefit of having an
increased metabolism, which should help you keep off any
excess fat that may come with your eating habits.
How can I make my workouts more intense?
Well, intensity comes from being properly fueled. This
means you're going to need to have a meal heavy in carbs
prior to your workout. Carbs are your energy food and the
more you have in you before you goto workout will result in
a more intense and energetic workout. You also need to eat
a high amount of carbs after you workout. The reason is to
replenish all the lost nutrients from an intense
workout.
Is it wise to get up in the middle of the night to
eat protein?
There is a debate on this and I've concluded it's better
to sleep. The reason I think sleep is better is because
there are ways to get protein in your system, while you
still sleep. It's actually pretty simple. If you eat
combinations of protein and fat you can have protein last
the whole night. Your body takes more time to digest fat,
therefore as your protein + fat combo digests slowly,
you'll get a constant flow of protein all night.
